Forget-Me-Nots
24th September 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
We have a big night with the Forget-Me-Nots on Tuesday 24th September – a tribute night for Brendan Grace.
We’ve been filming with Brendan Grace for the last year and singing with stars like Mike Denver, Lisa Lambe, Dickie Rock, Foster & Allen, Red Hurley and Sandy Kelly in Baldoyle Community Centre. The plan was to have a wonderful charity night in aid of Engaging Dementia – Brendan was going to sing a few songs, and introduce his pals from years gone by. Unfortunately, he got very ill in June and died in July of this year, he asked the Forget-Me-Nots to sing at his funeral – a very poignant and moving day for us. Before he died, he asked Brian Reddin, the producer of the documentary, to finish filming and to go ahead with the concert, still in aid of Engaging Dementia, and for the Forget-Me-Nots to remain on stage during the performance throwing in harmonies and providing choir accompaniment to his pals – and so the concert is going ahead.
New stars like Sharon Shannon, Donal Lunny, Stockton’s Wing, Sean Keane and Matt Molloy, Paddy Cole and the Gingermen have been added to the line-up so looks like it is going to be a fantastic night. Tickets can be bought on www.ticketmaster.ie price €23-34. The performers are giving their time and talent free of charge, all proceeds are going to Engaging Dementia.“
It is on at the Olympia Theatre on Tuesday 24th September, doors 6.30, show 7.30pm, tickets from €23-€34 – all in aid of Engaging Dementia.
