And so the summer draws to a close: those warm, balmy days and long, bright evenings are cooling and drawing in. Schools reopen, holidays end, the sense of freedom that the summer brings gradually replaced by the acceptance that a new phase is beginning.
For us in Dolce that means we leave behind the adventures and travels of our 3 month break, and we look forward to filling the shorter evenings with rehearsals and singing and renewed and new Dolce friendships. September is a time when our members are full of enthusiasm for the return, full of excitement about the musical plans for the term, and full of good intentions about doing homework!
This term’s plans include weekly sightreading classes, a trip to Vienna, a concert to honour Mick Travers who died earlier this year, monthly history sessions, a new African song, and of course our annual Christmas concert, which is way too far away to even think about yet!
We have vacancies for 2 basses this term, and will take on just one new soprano and tenor. If you’d like to join us for some Dolce fun, get your email into us as soon as you can. Our first rehearsal is on Thursday 6th September at 8pm.
